Parga, Greece

We went on a family holday to Greece in October 2004. It was a last minute deal and looked promising. It turned out to be a bloody disaster! The first two days were beautiful weather, but after that it was utter monsoon torrential downpour conditions for the rest of the time we were there! In addition, we discovered when we arrived that the resort was 'closing for the winter' on the wednesday (having arrived on saturday!) That meant that instead of there being quite a few empty bars, there were going to just be a handful of empty bars instead. Every bar had loads of pics of what had been going on all through the summer season too just to taunt me!!!

You can't really appreciate just how heavily it's raining on this shot.

The annoying thing is, the resort was beautiful. This island was in the middle of parga bay and on the first 2 days i swam out to it a few times. I looked so much better in the sun!

The road was almost a river. Actually, this is probably when the rain reached it's peak!

Georgeos, a barman at the only bar in town that ever had anyone in it! On the last night (saturday), the only night when a club was open, i went out with him and two of his friends and got a little the worse for wear (to the point that mum wouldn't speak to me the next day!) I think i had a bit of steam to let off after the rest of the week!

Still, at least we were away from work! :)
